Tourist information

To help you make the most of your experience in Sibiu, we have prepared a short guide on how to use local public transport.

1. Buses

Public transport in Sibiu has a relatively new fleet of buses, 45% of which are low emission (compressed gas or electric buses).

Bus stops are easily identified by signs with the names and numbers of the routes passing through that stop. Some stations have electronic boards showing real-time bus arrival times.

2. Travel passes: tickets, day tickets and weekly or 30-day passes

To travel by public transport in Sibiu, you need a valid ticket. It can be purchased at Tursib agencies, from street vending machines, from yellow contactless machines on the bus, from the SibiuBus mobile app and from the 24Pay mobile app. Always make sure you have a valid ticket, to avoid any inconvenience.

Attention! All travel vouchers are validated at the yellow machines on the bus, with the exception of travel vouchers purchased from the 24Pay mobile application.

The yellow machines on the buses allow validation in two ways:

QR codes: validate by simply positioning the QR code at the bottom of the yellow device.
Tursib cards: they are validated by bringing the Tursib card close to the yellow machines.

For this process to be efficient, it is important that travel vouchers are validated each time you board the bus.

3. Useful apps for public transport

The SibiuBus mobile app is a special app for public transport in Sibiu. It allows you to plan your trips, track the position of buses in real time and purchase tickets.
