TURSIB S.A. is a joint-stock company, established based on Decision no. 79/1998 of the Local Council of the Municipality of Sibiu. The majority shareholder of the company is the Municipality of Sibiu.

The company is organized and operates in accordance with Government Emergency Ordinance no. 109/2011 and Law no. 31/1990.

TURSIB S.A. provides the local public transport service based on Delegation Contract no. 19/2019, approved by Local Council Decision no. 127/2019, with subsequent amendments and completions. The regulation for the local public transport service was approved by Local Council Decision no. 127/2019.

The company is a member of the Federation of Urban, Suburban, and Metropolitan Passenger Transport Operators.

Currently, Tursib is providing local transportation services for a population of: 200.000 inhabitants, covering a surface of 121 square km².

The transportation plan is organised on 57 routes, as follows:

• Main routes: 1, 2, 3, 5 which run with a frequency of 7-10 minutes during peak hours;
• Secondary routes: 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24 which run with a frequency of 20 minutes at peak hours;
• Professional routes: 111, 112, 113, 114, 115, 116, 117, 118, 211, 213, 214, 215, 217 which mainly serve economic agents in industrial areas;
• Pupil routes: E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6, E7, E8 - only pupils are allowed to use them;
• Tourist route: 22, which runs between Sibiu and Păltiniş.
• Metropolitan routes: 500, 510, 520, 521, 525, 530, 540, 550, 560, 561, 570, 571, 580, 581, 582

The company owns a fleet of 156 buses and 5 minibuses, and 2 coaches which completes daily over 17.000 km carrying on average over 111.000 passengers daily.

The Tursib buses stop in 501 stations, where panels with the transit times of each bus are displayed. The stations are managed by the City Hall of Sibiu.
